Created by the inimitable Daum Nancy, this cameo vase showcases the superb quality and detail for which the firm is beloved. Green acid-etched florals rise from the vibrant red and yellow ground. In a rare detail, the upper and lower registers of the vase are gilded, adding further opulence to the vase. Daum Nancy is considered among the best and most famous French cameo glass producers of the Art Nouveau period.
Initially produced by Auguste and Antonin Daum around 1890, Daum Nancy was heavily influenced by nature, which led to the production of many floral and scenic works. Daum glass is highly desirable among collectors today, especially items of such incredible artistry and quality.
